On walking towards the Peachcan Gallery and looking through the glass storefront, one is overtaken by the sea of blue ‘Chaney’ patterns. Virgin Islands’ artist, La Vaughn Belle, has been working to bring awareness to the vestiges of colonialism and its impact on Virgin Islands’ culture through her Chaney series.

“The detriment of the world comes from 3 things: Lack of individual ability, lack of discipline and lack of unity (bringing people together).” Ajeeb Prince is a 25-year-old writer & author of the book Scenic Drive, which was published in March. Born in North Philadelphia, Ajeeb moved to St. Croix with his mother at age 4. He’s been a musician since he was 3 years old. His mother was an African dancer in St. Croix and Ajeeb would go with her and play the drums with the band. Music was a full -time hobby and the best thing to do.
